So first off, the new Prodigy album, Invaders Must Die, hit wide release last week. And man does it kick some serious ass. Like for real. Classic chemical breaks, laced with a nice offering of retro rave and hardcore techno. If you’re a fan of their earlier work (think Wind it Up, Out of Space) to their 90s beats (Voodoo People, Skylined) to the hard base kicks of Diesel Power, then you’re going to adore this album. I can’t get enough of it.
And they’re coming to Toronto in 2 weeks. And no I don’t have my ticket yet. The usual suspects are not available to go, so I may be looking for a date. If you’re interested in seeing The Prodigy with me, then drop me a message.
Here is the video for Omen from Invaders Must Die. So good.
And in other news, I got out to see Watchmen on Friday night.

Quick review: not disappointing.
I didn’t go into the movie thinking it was going to be groundbreaking, or that it was going to blow me away. Which I think was key to my enjoyment. What I got was a very good adaptation of the original groundbreaking source material. Sure, some things could have been done differently, some scenes could have been tighter–but really, that goes for most films. Some of the music seemed out of place as well, but the orchestral score was fantastic.
I really had a good time with this film, and I’m very much looking forward to the extended director’s cut.
